Lightly sand the surface of the primed oak with 220-grit sandpaper. Wipe it off with a dust cloth.
Apply a layer of latex paint to the doors and drawers using the same process above for the primer.
Let the paint dry for 24 hours unless otherwise stated on the label.
Apply about two coats of latex paint. This amount depends on how well the color covers your current finish.
Reinstall the drawers and doors with the original or new hardware.
